Record Federal Budget Deficits

Posted by Tom Sawyer.

In addition, future deficits are currently projected to total $9.1 trillion in the coming decade.

I think what we need is for Washington to keep spending all our money for us, because, as everyone knows, Washington politicians know better what to do with our money than we do, that's why they should probably just take all of it from us and then re-disburse it in the best way possible. That way things would be fair. Social justice, I think it's called.

Well for starters the record public debt levels started under Reagan, continued under Bush 1, dropped under Clinton/Gingrich, and then rose again under Bush 2.

Yet Obama has not exactly helped reverse the situation has he? Obama's spending has been unsustainable and it will come back and bite America in the butt at some point - probably soon.

It wasn't Obama's fault that he took over flying the plane while it was flying too close to the ground. But to fly even closer is stupid.

Ummm. Senator Obama voted for TARP and urged Bush 43 to bail out the automotive industry. This profligate spending at the end of his administration is what led to Bush 43's huge deficits. How can Obama blame Bush for doing what Obama obviously agreed with?
